Happiness isn't too good for the economy
The world is intentionally depressive. Happiness isn’t too good for the economy. If we’re happy with what we have, why would we need more?
How do you sell anti-aging cream? Make them worry about getting old. How do you get people to vote? Make them worry about immigrants. How do you get them to buy insurance? Make them worry about everything. Plastic surgery? Make them think their natural features need fixing. Watch a series, buy a smartphone? Make them feel like they’re missing out.
Being unperturbed is already a revolutionary act. Taking joy in your un-upgraded existence. Feeling comfortable being yourself. That’s not great for business.
