Psy-hack. Easy entry into meditation
For those who wanted to try meditating but didn’t know where to start. Start with the Wim Hof breathing technique. It’s like jumping off a diving platform — you land straight in the world of sensations. That’s roughly what I do, only with longer breath holds.
Hold your breath on the exhale. If you can — hold it longer. On the exhale, close your eyes, don’t move, relax so you don’t burn oxygen, and feel new sensations in your body. Strange tingles will come. You’re not suffocating. That’s how carbon dioxide feels.
After the breathwork, keep sitting with your eyes closed. Follow the sensations in your body. Keep your attention on the breath. Back straight — this isn’t sleep. But everything else — relax it. Face, body, brain. Notice when attention wanders. The mind needs time to settle down.
Set aside time and intention in advance. It’s simple. Sit with a straight back — a chair works too, just don’t lean back. The body should support the spine. And you observe your breathing for 20+ minutes.
If you want to play with this further — when you’re absolutely sure you want to get up — sit for five more minutes.
It’s good stuff. Thanks for your time. And I wish you a good night, or a good day, and a good life. All the love. All the power. Yes!
