Sati App interview

Gave an interview to the creators of https://sati.app. They have really good meditations, each preceded by a short lecture on the path. We talked about meditation, psychedelics, the road to enlightenment. Let me jot down some thoughts.

Psychedelics are useful because they show how all our perception is arbitrary, that we live in an illusion we can control by changing our thinking. This explains why they can cure various problems. If these are just illusions, they can be changed by thinking about yourself differently.

It’s not that objective reality doesn’t exist — it’s that we can never truly grasp it, since we’ve evolved to see only an extremely limited, human-centric perspective.

We can’t fully step outside our human perception — we don’t see objective reality. The experiences we have, no matter how profound or real they seem, are still generated by our consciousness.

All we have are images created by our mind, triggering the desire to survive and reproduce our genes.
