The method works
Following the Recluse’s advice, I’m summarizing the experience as I leave yet another world.
The gathering went brilliantly. Meditation, yoga, and freediving are parts of a whole, supporting and developing each other. In the end, we were vibing non-stop for two weeks — first we did yoga and meditated. Everyone passed the advanced motorcycle riding course and rode around on whatever they had without a hitch.
The second week was dedicated to freediving. Yoga was first reduced to evenings only, then took a back seat when we moved to the Surin Islands. We lived in a tent camp on the ocean shore and freedived two to three spots a day among the corals around the islands.
We learned to meditate, let go of control, relax. I explained, demonstrated, broke it down. And it all worked — people came back from the retreat as different humans.
The concept of non-duality remains elusive for many. Too hard to figure out everything on your own. Too many doubts.
Doubts are mind games, a variety of fear. That’s one of the things that vanished. Everyone sees the world differently now. The past healed — only the good remains. Complete equanimity and irrelevance of whatever happens outside.
How long will the effect last? Depends on how many meditations you skip. I’ve only missed one day so far, when I was trying to fly out with everyone. Couldn’t find the passport I entered with, they wouldn’t let me leave on the second one. And everything’s fine, nothing’s happening.
After merging with the world, my body became more flexible and I control it better. The motorcycle rides smoother now — I drive by feel. Everything’s funny again.
If you understood it yourself, you can explain it to a child. Buddha spoke about the importance of a group of like-minded people (sangha). When everyone shares insights, new ways of seeing — understanding comes easier.
The method works.
