There are two versions of the future:
— a future predetermined by our negative past; — a future predetermined by our goals, desires, fantasies, and aspirations.
Here’s the thing: to end up in the first future, you don’t have to do anything new today. It will come on its own. And it’s so convenient to live like that! It’s a stable, calm, familiar rut, filled with phrases like “I told you it would end up this way.”
But to reach future number two — where our dreams come true and take shape — you have to restructure today, which means restructuring yourself.
