Ben Böhmer — Cappadocia

Filmed at sunrise on August 31, 2020, above Cappadocia in central Turkey — a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its cave dwellings and rock formations. Ben Böhmer’s full sound system and mixing console rode inside the balloon basket with him; the footage was shot from the balloon itself, from the ground, and from two drones, including an FPV pilot weaving around the flight.

It was Cercle’s first performance in the air, after shows in places like Croatia’s Plitvice Lakes with Disclosure. The set also launched Cercle Records: the title track, “Cappadocia,” made with French producer Romain Garcia, premiered live here and came out as the label’s first release on September 10, 2020.

The hour-and-a-half set is almost entirely Böhmer’s own catalog and remixes — tracks off his Phases EP, a Monolink remix, a Pryda remix, a Worakls remix — building slowly as the balloon climbs and the Cappadocia valleys open up below.
