Ben Böhmer — Cercle Odyssey
Cercle Odyssey is a traveling dome, not a club: 2,300 square meters of projection screen, up to 55 meters long and 10-12 meters high, wrapped fully around the crowd. Paris hosted the tour’s finale from May 28 to June 1, 2025, at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles. Ben Böhmer played on May 31.
The visuals are shot with custom drones and five-lens cameras at 30K resolution, on location in places like Namibia, French Polynesia, and Iceland, then projected in 8K with sound built with IRCAM. The whole structure is inspired by Homer’s Odyssey and rents its equipment locally at every stop on the tour — the founder, Derek Barbolla, built it to be mobile rather than a fixed venue.
Böhmer played inside the dome rather than on a stage at its edge, so the audience could move around him and see the set from different angles. The set itself is short and deliberate: three tracks.
