Refuse to Suffer

Pain is real. Suffering is the part you add.

The body feels pain — that’s not a choice. But the second arrow, the story about the pain, the replaying it at 3am for years — that one you fire yourself.

A hard past can be an excuse or it can be fuel. Everyone has their stories — everyone went through something. Some got too little praise, some got too much weight, some got hit harder. These things don’t dissolve on their own. I know, because I was there. It becomes part of the foundation — and you either break under it or you stand on top of it.

Most people repeat what they were shown. A few carry the pain their whole life. And a rare few decide to become something more than their circumstances.

I have deep respect for the ones who choose the second.

The past explains you. It doesn’t excuse you. Once you’ve seen the cockroach, you can’t pretend it isn’t there — so the only question left is what you build on top.

Real resilience is becoming a better example than the one you were given.
