Step 1: Admit it

Step 1: Admit it

Like the first of the twelve steps — the first step is to admit there’s a problem.

Nothing moves until you do. You can read every book, hear every teaching, nod along — but as long as you secretly believe your life is basically fine the way it is, nothing changes. The door stays shut.

They say seeing the problem is already half the solution. Sometimes not half — the whole thing. Sometimes it’s enough just to see which cockroach or demon is sitting inside.

The moment you admit that things are not what they seem — that the way you’ve been living isn’t the only way, that the suffering is optional — it gets easier from there. The hard part isn’t the work. The hard part is admitting there’s work to do.

So. Admit it. And then the next question is — what do you do about it? Turns out someone already figured this out 2,500 years ago.
